How to tie it
Slide the medium cone onto the hook, wrap several turns of.035 lead-free wire, and push it into the cone; start the strong white thread behind it.
Comb the underfur out of a clump of white Arctic fox with a bone comb and tie it in at the rear as the tail.
Add three strands of gold Semperfli flash along each side of the tail.
Tie in the gold holographic chenille at the rear and wrap it forward by hand to behind the collar area; tie off.
Fold a small tuft of red shimmer flash under the thread and catch it in under the shank as a short throat.
Cut rubber legs and tie in two gold legs per side.
Comb another clump of Arctic fox, tie it in as the wing with the butts forward, then fold the material back over itself and bind it. Doubling it back makes it far more durable.
Comb and stack a clump of very fine deer hair; lay it along one side with the tips rearward and take one good turn, then pull so the hair distributes around that side. This fine hair is placed, not spun.
Stack a second clump and place it around the other side where the first left off, applying pressure so the hair follows the thread around; pull all butts back and work the thread in behind the cone.
Whip finish tight on the hook behind the cone, then pull the butts forward and trim them short against the cone to form the muddler head.
