Start the Tan or olive uni thread and figure-8 a pair of small Bead chain, or micro dumbbells onto the shank behind the eye, wrapping over the eyes and under the shank to lock them.
Run the thread back to the start of the bend. Catch in about half a dozen strands of Pearl crystal flash with a couple of turns for the tail, keeping it short, about a body length.
Tie in the Tan or olive D-rib *nymph size at the same point.
Catch in a second bunch of Pearl crystal flash for the Underbody, bind it down, and take the thread forward through the eyes again to lock them a little better. Wrap the crystal flash forward along the underside of the shank and tie it off at the front. It only needs to cover the shank; the D-rib will cover it.
Wrap the D-rib forward in touching turns so the pearl shines through and the body segments. Pass it over the top between the bead chain eyes, catch it off, and take two or three thread turns in front of the eyes to form the waist.
Take a small bunch of Pseudo hair for the wing. Rather than cutting the tips square, tear it where you want the taper so it keeps a tapered look. Measure it to about a body length past the back of the hook.
Pinch the wing over the waist and take two or three turns, letting it roll slightly around the hook, then tighten. Trim the butts, and blow off any fuzzy loose fibres to make sure nothing is left unattached.
Put head cement on the thread before wrapping over the cut ends so it soaks in under them rather than running into the eye.
For the legs, take a length of Orange flex floss just under the wing length. Tie it in at the side with two or three turns, fold it around, and bind it so the legs come off the sides, not the top.
Run the thread forward between the two sets of legs to separate them so they move independently, keeping them flat off the sides. Trim the legs a wee bit shorter, build the head, and whip finish.
