How to tie it
Put the gold tungsten bead on the jig hook, wrap a few turns of .020 lead on the shank and push it into the slot of the bead.
Start the camel thread behind the wire and lay a thread base back to the bend and forward to the bead.
Tie in six to ten fibres of the feather as a tail, about the length of the shank, then take the thread up to the base of the lead before trimming so the body tapers.
Tie in medium copper Ultra Wire just beyond the lead.
Bring the thread in front of the tail and dub the abdomen with natural dubbing, building it up a little as it advances for a taper, to about 75 to 80 percent of the shank.
Wind the wire forward in a few segmented turns for the rib and tie it off.
Dub the thorax with brown sugar CLX dubbing and pick it out with a bodkin if wanted.
Take a few wraps of thread behind the bead and whip finish.
