Materials
- Rib Fine copper wire
- Body (rear half) Reddish-brown floss
- Body (front half) Dark brown floss (tyer substitutes brown Aurora yarn)

How to tie it
- Attach the thread to the hook shank, then attach the copper wire.
- Tie in the reddish-brown floss and wrap it to make the rear half of the body.
- Lock the floss with two or three tight thread wraps and trim the excess.
- Wrap the copper wire over the rear body only and tie it down, leaving the front (thorax) without wire.
- Tie in the dark brown floss and wrap it forward to the eye, stopping about a millimetre short of the eye to leave room for the wing; trim the excess.
- Tie in the brown wing feather on top and build the head.
- Trim the wing short, to about halfway along the front body.
- Trim the thread and give the head a coat of varnish.
