Tyer Recipe

  • Hook 3-4XL streamer hook, 4-10
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Marabou tail Black or olive marabou (1 plume)
  • Seal-type dubbing body Black or olive chenille ice dub (as needed)
  • Palmered hackle Grizzly or black hackle (1)
  • Wire rib Copper wire (1 length)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in a marabou tail one shank-length long.
  3. Tie in a hackle by the tip and the wire rib at the rear.
  4. Dub a shaggy seal-fur body forward to behind the eye.
  5. Palmer the hackle forward, then counter-rib the wire through it to lock and tie off.
  6. Build a head and whip finish.
