Slide the large silver cone onto the hook, then wrap about 20 turns of.035 lead-free wire and push it into the cone to lock it; start black thread behind the wire.
Tie in the Magnum rabbit strip zonker-style at the rear (wet your fingers, part the fur to bare hide, and take good tight wraps) leaving a tail about one shank-length; cut a V in the hide at the tie-down.
Tie in the white pearl chenille and the pearl-gray Palmer chenille at the rear.
Wrap the plain chenille forward to build the body, stopping short of the cone. Don't crowd it. Then palmer the Palmer chenille forward in a few wide turns over the body and tie off.
Fold two Sili Legs in half, cut to make four equal legs, and tie them in two per side at the collar area.
Fold a small bunch of fine red Flashabou under the thread, catch it in under the bottom as a throat, and trim it fairly short.
Pull the rabbit strip tight over the top of the body, take a good turn or two over the hide, cut the hide off as close to the cone as possible, and let the fur tuck under the cone.
Double three or four strands of Krystal Flash over the thread and tie them in on top, reaching to the end of the tail.
Comb the underfur out of a clump of deer hair, stack it well, and tie it in as a collar with the tips rearward. Two soft turns, then tighten so the tips stay on top and sides; trim the butts and tuck a pinch under the bottom to cover the tie-down.
Work the thread through to behind the cone, whip finish on the hook (not the cone), and trim the deer-hair collar to shape. Snug underneath, fuller on top.
