Nymph · Largemouth Bass · Smallmouth Bass · Panfish · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Wide-gap streamer/bass hook, #1/0-4
  • Thread Black 210 denier (6/0 heavy)

Materials

  • Eyes Silver metal tape (Lead dumbbell (optional, for jig action))
  • Tail Black or olive material (Rabbit zonker strip, one and a half shank lengths)
  • Flash Copper/pearl flash (Few strands Flashabou per side)
  • Collar Black or olive material (2 marabou plumes)
  • Head Black or olive material (Ice dubbing, picked out)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and, if using, bind lead dumbbell eyes near the eye for a jigging action.
  2. Start thread and tie in a long rabbit zonker tail at the bend, about one and a half shank lengths for a big, snaking profile.
  3. Add a few strands of copper or pearl Flashabou down each side.
  4. Tie in two marabou plumes by the tips and wrap a full, bushy collar, sweeping the fibers back.
  5. Dub a shaggy ice-dubbing head and pick it out for bulk, working around the eyes if used.
  6. Whip finish and cement.
