Reference Recipe

  • Hook Standard streamer/wet hook (TMC 3761 or equivalent), #4-10
  • Thread Black 8/0 (70 denier)

Materials

  • Body Pink ears (Pink floss or chenille)
  • Rib Silver metal tape (Small oval tinsel)
  • Wing White uni stretch (Arctic fox tail or calf tail)
  • Collar Yellow and hot pink material (Webby schlappen or soft hackle, mixed)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start thread at the bend.
  2. Catch in the oval silver rib at the bend, then wrap a smooth pink body forward to just behind the eye.
  3. Counter-wrap the rib forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns and tie off.
  4. Tie in a sparse white arctic-fox or calf-tail wing over the top, reaching to about the end of the body.
  5. Wrap a soft collar of mixed yellow and hot-pink schlappen, two or three turns, then sweep the fibers back for a shrimpy, breathing look.
  6. Build a small head, whip finish and cement.
