Slide the black cone onto the hook, mount it, and run olive thread back to the bend.
Tie in the chartreuse zonker strip at the bend, fur side up, with the tail trailing behind; trim the hide and bind the tie-down securely.
Tie in the gold wire at the rear.
Dub the shank with bright chartreuse Laser Dub (no loop needed), wetting the thread helps; wrap forward to behind the cone.
Counter-wrap the gold wire forward in a few open cross-wraps over the dubbing to reinforce it, then trim the wire with old scissors.
Tie two strands of Flashabou along the near side (tie in mid-strand, fold, wrap forward and back), trimming to about the length of the tail; repeat on the far side.
Tie in the wire dubbing brush behind the cone, bend the wire core back and double it over the tie-down, then bind it.
Wrap the brush forward to the cone, sweeping the material back with each turn to build a sculpin-style head, packing the last turn tight against the cone.
Build a band of thread behind the cone to seat everything tight, then whip finish.
