How to tie it
Mount a 2x-long bass hook and start thread; run a thread base back to the bend and coat it with a thin layer of superglue to key the foam later.
At the bend, tie in a full marabou tail about one shank-length long, then add six to eight strands of Flashabou or Krystal Flash over it and a pair of round rubber legs splayed to each side.
Tie in a saddle hackle by the butt just ahead of the tail and wind three to four turns to form a palmered collar; tie off and trim, sweeping the fibers back.
Take the pre-shaped closed-cell foam popper/slider body and slide it onto the hook from the front so the hook seats in the body's slot, with the flat or cupped face forward at the eye.
Work superglue or gel into the slot and along the thread base, then push the foam back over the collar and hold until it grips; the glue locks it to the shank.
Add a second pair of round rubber legs by threading them through the sides of the foam body (or figure-eight them at the waist) so two legs kick out each side.
Whip finish the thread in front of the foam at the eye, or seat the foam over a small thread dam, and add a drop of cement at the eye.
