Booby Crystal Bristol Viva

Classic Recipe

  • Hook Short-shank wide-gape stillwater hook (Kamasan B110/B175), 8-10
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Eyes Closed-cell foam booby eyes (1 pair, medium)
  • Tail Fluorescent green marabou (Viva tail) (one shank length)
  • Body Black crystal chenille ('Bristol') (1 length)

How to tie it

  1. Tie in the foam booby eyes at the head with figure-8 wraps and round the ends.
  2. Run the thread to the bend and tie in a fluorescent lime-green marabou tail one shank length long (the Viva trademark).
  3. Tie in the black crystal chenille at the bend.
  4. Wind the crystal chenille forward in touching turns to the eyes, brushing fibres back between turns, then figure-8 around the eyes.
  5. Whip finish in front of the eyes and varnish.
