Classic Recipe

• Hook Short-shank wide-gape stillwater hook (Kamasan B110/B175), 8-10
• Thread Red 8/0

Materials

• Eyes Closed-cell foam booby eyes (1 pair, medium)
• Tail Red / claret marabou (one shank length)
• Body Red crystal / cactus chenille ('Bristol Blood') (1 length)

How to tie it

1. Tie in the foam booby eyes at the head with figure-8 wraps and round the ends.
2. Take the thread to the bend and tie in a blood-red marabou tail one shank length long.
3. Tie in the red crystal chenille at the bend.
4. Wind the crystal chenille forward in touching turns to the eyes, brushing the sparkly fibres back between turns, then figure-8 around the eyes.
5. Whip finish in front of the eyes and varnish.
