Booby Coral Straggle

Classic Recipe

  • Hook Short-shank wide-gape stillwater hook (Kamasan B110/B175), 8-10
  • Thread Orange or pink 8/0

Materials

  • Eyes Closed-cell foam booby eyes (1 pair, medium)
  • Tail Coral/salmon-pink marabou (one shank length)
  • Body Semperfli Ice Straggle chenille, Coral (1 length)

How to tie it

  1. Tie in the foam booby eyes at the head with figure-8 wraps and round the ends.
  2. Run the thread to the bend and tie in a coral marabou tail one shank length long.
  3. Tie in the coral ice-straggle chenille at the bend.
  4. Wind the straggle forward in touching turns to the eyes, brushing the sparkly fibres back between turns, then figure-8 around the eyes.
  5. Whip finish in front of the eyes and varnish.
