How to tie it
Put a size 6 Daiichi 2546 in the vise and start fluorescent shell pink 140 denier thread.
Start the eyes a little way back from the hook eye so there is room for a bulky rabbit tie-in. Build a small bump of thread in front of the eye position to seat them, then lock in a pair of medium bead chain eyes with wraps around the base (a touch of super glue is optional).
Tie in three strands of shrimp pink Krystal Flash, a couple of inches long, in the centre and fold them over for the tail, wrapping down the bend slightly.
Double a single pink barred clear Crusher Leg around the thread so there is one leg each side, pull one slightly to each side so they splay in a V, and wrap over them. Build a slightly tapered body base with thread.
Take three or four full-length strands of the same Krystal Flash, double them around the thread, and tie them in at the back by the tail for the body.
Bring the thread to just in front of the hook eye. Gently pull the flash to flatten it, then wrap it forward to the eyes, go around the eyes twice in each direction, and tie it off. Leave the tag end facing forward to fold back over the wing later.
Coat the flash body with Solarez Bone Dry UV resin and cure it, including over the eyes.
Tie in a short strip of creamy pink two-tone rabbit, with the tie-in end pre-cut to a V, on the bottom of the hook just behind the hook eye. Keep the leather no longer than the hook point.
Split the six flash strands, three to each side, and cover the rabbit with them. Build a neat head and whip finish.
Trim the flash to different lengths, a little longer than the rabbit, and coat the head thread wraps with resin. Trim the tail to about the length of the fly or slightly longer.
