  • Hook Saltwater bonefish hook, 8-4
  • Thread Tan 6/0

Materials

  • Eyes Silver metal tape (Bead chain or small dumbbell)
  • Tail Tan/pink material (Marabou plus a few flash strands)
  • Body Tan carapace (Tan chenille or ice dubbing)
  • Hackle Grizzly/tan saddle hackles (1 saddle feather, palmered)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook, start tan thread, and lash bead-chain or dumbbell eyes near the eye for a hook-point-up ride.
  2. Wind to the bend and tie in a tan marabou tail one shank length long with a few strands of flash.
  3. Tie in a saddle hackle by the tip and then the chenille or dubbing at the bend.
  4. Wrap the body forward to just behind the eyes.
  5. Palmer the hackle forward in 5-6 open turns and tie off behind the eyes, sweeping fibers back.
  6. Figure-8 a little dubbing around the eyes, whip finish, and cement.
