Streamer · Panfish · Largemouth Bass · Smallmouth Bass · Beginner · 1 version

Classic Recipe

  • Hook Jig hook (rides point-up), 8-10
  • Thread Black or yellow 6/0

Materials

  • Head/collar Spun and trimmed deer hair (small clump)
  • Tail Marabou or hackle (black/yellow) (short tuft)
  • Legs Rubber legs (2-3 pairs)
  • Flash Micro flash (few strands)

How to tie it

  1. On a jig hook, tie in a short marabou or hackle tail plus a few strands of micro flash at the bend.
  2. Add two or three pairs of rubber legs splayed along the rear of the shank.
  3. Spin and pack a clump of deer hair at the front, then trim it to a small sloped slider head; the hair pushes water and helps the fly ride hook-point up.
  4. Whip finish at the eye and cement.
