Materials
Tail Coq de Leon feather fibres
Wing Snowshoe rabbit
Body Quill, soaked in water, dyed blue (tyer says shade is slightly off)
Hackle Dun hackle (transcript caption reads 'duck down hackle')
Thorax Superfine blue-winged olive dubbing
How to tie it
Tie a small ball of thread at the hook bend to split the tails.
Tie in a coq de leon tail slightly longer than the hook shank, running it back to the thread ball.
Optionally run a figure-eight through the tail fibres to split them.
Tie in snowshoe rabbit wings from the tips, build a thread ball in front to stand them up, and divide them with figure eights.
Soak the quill in water for at least five minutes, then tie it in and dab glue on the thread.
Wind the quill forward with each wrap in front of the other up to the wings.
Tie in a short dun hackle, dub a sparse superfine thorax, wind the hackle, tie off behind the eye and whip finish.
