Silver wire (body) Silver wire (medium, enough to wrap the shank)

How to tie it
Start black thread in the front third of the shank and catch in the end of the medium silver wire, binding it back to where you want the body to end near the bend; leave the wire hanging at the rear.
Return the thread to a couple of eye-lengths behind the eye.
Lay the blue zonker strip along the top of the shank, fur side up, with the tail extending about one shank-length beyond the bend; part the fur at the rear tie point and secure the hide there with two firm wraps, keeping the strip squarely on top.
Whip finish the thread with a quick three-turn whip and remove it so the wire can be wrapped.
Hold the strip up out of the way and wrap the silver wire forward in close turns to form the body, ending behind the head area.
Re-attach the black thread up front, catch off the wire with several tight wraps, fold the wire end forward for a couple more locking wraps, then helicopter it off and bury any sharp nub with loose wraps.
Pull the zonker strip forward over the top of the body and secure the hide behind the eye with several firm wraps.
Tie in a small clump of white marabou tips beneath the shank as a contrasting throat and trim the butts.
Build a good-sized streamer head, whip finish, and coat with a big drop of UV resin or head cement.
