Slide the 3.8mm Orange Tungsten Slotted Bead onto the Hanak 400BL, start the black 6/0 thread behind it, and build a small thread wedge to prop the bead up; run the thread back to the bend.
Strip the end of the Olive/Rust Medium Variegated Chenille to expose the cotton core, tie it in by that core at the bend, and anchor the core down tight.
Legs: at the middle of the shank tie in three strands of Rusty Olive Superfloss like spinner wings, a couple of wraps one way and a couple the other, then pull them tight to square them up. Take a turn of thread around them if they get in the way.
Bring the thread up behind the bead. Wrap the chenille forward: a couple of turns, then catch the rearmost leg on the near side with a turn, the rearmost on the far side, a turn between the leg sets, and a turn in front so the legs are spread evenly along the body. Crowd the last turn against the bead, tie off, trim, and build a small collar.
Poke the hook point through the Olive Variant Rabbit Strip with enough length to reach the eye, take the hook out of the vise, slide the strip up around the bend, and remount the hook upside down.
Grip some fur at the front of the strip, wet the rest, centre the strip over the top snug against the body, buckle it down and catch it with a turn; pull the fur clear for a clean tie-off and trim the hide as close as you can, which takes a couple of snips.
Sweep everything back, add just enough wraps to smooth the head, whip finish, and trim the thread.
Trim the legs to about one shank length. Pull the strip forward, part the fur at the back of the collar and cut just the hide to a short stub, then taper the square end of the strip. Add a drop of head cement.
