Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Curved buzzer/grub hook, 10-16
  • Thread Red 8/0

Materials

  • Tying thread / stretch floss (body) Red floss (body)
  • Holographic tinsel Silver/pearl flashtail (rib)
  • Superfine dubbing or thread Black dubbing (thorax)
  • Antron / Glo-Brite fibre White / orange antron glo brite fibre (breathers & cheeks)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and form a smooth slim red body carried well around the bend.
  2. Rib the body with holographic tinsel in open even turns and tie off.
  3. Tie in short white breather filaments at the head.
  4. Optional: add two small orange holographic cheeks at the front of the thorax.
  5. Build a black thorax over the front third of the hook.
  6. Form a neat head and whip finish, then coat the body with UV resin or varnish for a wet sheen.
