Reference Recipe
- Hook Curved scud/pupa hook, 14-20
- Thread Red 8/0
Materials
- Body Red buzzer wrap (Red tying thread or red wire)
- Rib Silver metal tape (Fine silver wire)
- Thorax Black ostrich herl (Black Superfine dubbing or peacock)
- Bead Black bead (Black tungsten bead (optional))
How to tie it
- If using a bead, slide it on; mount the hook and start red thread behind it.
- Catch in fine silver wire and run the thread back around the curve to the bend.
- Build a slim, glossy red body forward to the 70% mark. Red for the hemoglobin that makes real bloodworms red.
- Rib with 5-6 open turns of silver wire for segmentation and tie off.
- Dub a small black thorax right behind the bead or eye.
- Whip finish and add a tiny drop of cement to protect the thread body.
