Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Largemouth Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 3x-long streamer/nymph hook, 6-12
  • Thread Tan 6/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold bead (Gold bead (optional))
  • Tail Tan carapace (Tan marabou plume)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (A few strands of pearl Krystal Flash)
  • Body Tan carapace (Tan marabou/leech chenille or dubbing)
  • Rib Copper thorax stripe (Fine copper wire (optional))

How to tie it

  1. If using a bead, slide it on; mount the hook and start thread, running back to the bend.
  2. Tie in a tan marabou tail, one-and-a-half shank lengths long, with a couple of strands of flash.
  3. Catch in fine copper wire if ribbing, then tie in the body material.
  4. Wrap the body forward in touching turns to just behind the bead, keeping it slim and slinky.
  5. Counter-wrap the copper rib in 5 open turns for durability and tie off.
  6. Pick out the body fibers so it breathes, whip finish, and cement.
