Reference Recipe
- Hook 3x-long streamer/nymph hook, 6-12
- Thread Tan 6/0
Materials
- Bead Gold bead (Gold bead (optional))
- Tail Tan carapace (Tan marabou plume)
- Flash Pearl flashabou (A few strands of pearl Krystal Flash)
- Body Tan carapace (Tan marabou/leech chenille or dubbing)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (Fine copper wire (optional))
How to tie it
- If using a bead, slide it on; mount the hook and start thread, running back to the bend.
- Tie in a tan marabou tail, one-and-a-half shank lengths long, with a couple of strands of flash.
- Catch in fine copper wire if ribbing, then tie in the body material.
- Wrap the body forward in touching turns to just behind the bead, keeping it slim and slinky.
- Counter-wrap the copper rib in 5 open turns for durability and tie off.
- Pick out the body fibers so it breathes, whip finish, and cement.
