  • Hook Gamakatsu SL11-3H, 4

Materials

  • Tail Bucktail (white in the demo)
  • Body Body Braid/Tinsel (Bill's Body Braid in the demo; originally tinsel)
  • Wing Bucktail (olive in the demo; any colours)
  • Eyes Painted: white acrylic base, black pupil
  • Head UV resin (medium)

How to tie it

  1. Tie in white bucktail right behind the hook eye, wrapping back toward the hook point, to form the tail.
  2. Tie in the body braid (originally tinsel) and coat the thread with superglue for durability.
  3. Wrap the body braid forward toward the eye, covering the thread, and secure it at the front and back.
  4. Tie in olive bucktail right behind the eye for the wing, about the same length as the tail or slightly longer.
  5. Build up a thread head, whip finish.
  6. Paint a white acrylic base for each eye, let it dry, then dot a black pupil in the centre with a bodkin.
  7. Cover the head and the painted eyes with a small amount of medium UV resin, spread neatly like a Deceiver head.
