  • Hook Wide-gape wet-fly / competition hook, 8-10
  • Thread Coral/orange 8/0

Materials

  • Tail (buoyancy) 3/16 in foam post (1)
  • Body Coral/orange Jelly Fritz (1 length)
  • Hot spot Coral/orange thread collar (few turns)

How to tie it

  1. Lay a thread base and tie in a split foam post at the bend as a buoyant tail; trim the stub.
  2. Tie in and wrap coral Jelly Fritz forward in dense touching turns, stroking fibers back after each wrap.
  3. Leave room at the head and finish with a few turns of bright coral thread as a hot-spot collar.
  4. Whip finish behind the eye.
