Reference Recipe

• Hook Wide-gape stillwater/grub hook, 10-12
• Thread Orange 6/0

Materials

• Bead Hot orange bead (Fluoro orange or gold slotted bead (the 'eye'))
• Body Sunburst/coral (Blob (Fritz) chenille, bright)
• Flash Pearl flashabou (Pearl straggle mixed in (optional))

How to tie it

1. Slide the hot bead onto the hook, mount it, and start thread behind the bead.
2. Wrap the thread back to the bend and tie in the blob chenille.
3. Palmer the chenille forward in touching turns, stroking the long fibers back with each wrap so they stand out into a dense ball.
4. Wrap right up behind the bead and tie off, keeping the body fat and round.
5. Pick out any trapped fibers with a dubbing needle so the blob looks full.
6. Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of cement.
