Tyer Recipe
- Hook Streamer hook, 3XL-4XL, 4-10
- Thread Red 6/0
Materials
- Lead-free wire or bead Silver lead free wire (underbody weight, optional)
- Mylar tubing Pearl/silver mylar tubing (shank-length body)
- Muskrat zonker strip Natural gray muskrat dubbing (1 (wing/back))
- Marabou or hackle fibers Red marabou (short throat/gills)
- Krystal flash Red holographic tinsel (a few strands, optional)
How to tie it
- Optionally add weighting wraps over the front half of the shank, then start red thread.
- Slide mylar tubing over the shank, tie it down at the bend and again behind the eye to form the body.
- Cut a muskrat zonker strip to length, tie the front end down behind the eye so the strip lies over the top to the bend.
- Secure the rear of the strip at the bend with a couple of tight red thread wraps so it forms the tail and back.
- Tie in a short red throat of marabou or hackle fibers under the head to suggest gills, adding a few strands of red flash if desired.
- Build a red thread head, whip finish and cement.
