How to tie it
Start the white thread and run a little glue along the shank before forming the body.
Body: form a dubbing loop and load it with a blend of Fulling Mill Voodoo Streamer Salty Light Tan Pearl and Troutline Mad Rabbit Natural. Spin it and wind forward toward the eye, sweeping the fibres rearward after every turn; use more dubbing for a thicker body, less for slimmer. Bind the loop off very hard at the front.
Belly: hold a small bunch of red ghost hair under the shank, take one loose wrap, pull the fibres downward while tightening, then pull them all back and bind again.
Measure the Troutline Muskrat Zonker Strip against the hook and clear the hair from the hide where it will be tied in. Pinch the strip hard on top, take a loose wrap, adjust, stroke everything back, and bind it in very hard.
Collar: form a second dubbing loop at the front and load it with muskrat fibres clipped from the strip. Wind it while pulling the fibres back, bind off, and snip the excess; secure well because the front is crowded.
Whip finish behind the eye.
Put a good amount of Zap-A-Gap on top of the thread head, slide the Troutline Fish Mask Size 6 on and pull it back until it seats. For extra durability take a few turns of thread at the hook eye and add glue there too.
Put a drop of glue in each eye socket of the mask and press in the eyes supplied with it.
