Classic Recipe

  • Hook Standard wet, 10-14

Materials

  • Tail GP tippet (small)
  • Body Black floss (slim)
  • Rib Fine silver oval (spiral)
  • Hackle Long black hen (sparse collar)

How to tie it

  1. Start black thread and run a base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a few golden pheasant tippet fibers as a small tail.
  3. Catch in fine silver oval tinsel, then wrap a slim black floss body forward, stopping short of the eye.
  4. Rib the body forward with the silver oval in 4-5 evenly spaced turns and tie off.
  5. Wrap a long, soft black hen hackle as a sparse collar, 2-3 turns, and sweep the long fibers back.
  6. Build a small head, whip finish, and cement.
