- Hook Standard wet-fly hook, 10-14

Materials
- Tail Golden pheasant (Golden pheasant tippet fibers)
- Body Black ostrich herl (Black floss or thread, slim)
- Rib Silver metal tape (Fine oval silver tinsel)
- Hackle Black hackle (Long soft black hen hackle)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start thread, running it back to above the barb.
- Tie in a sparse tail of golden pheasant tippet fibers, about half a shank long.
- Catch in fine oval silver tinsel, then build a slim black body forward to the 80% mark.
- Rib the body with 4-5 even open turns of silver and tie off.
- Tie in a long-fibered soft black hackle and take 2-3 turns as a full, mobile collar.
- Sweep the hackle slightly back, build a small head, whip finish, and cement.
