Classic Recipe

• Hook Standard wet fly, 1x long, 10-14
• Thread Black 8/0

Materials

• Rib Fine silver wire (fine)
• Body Black wool or seal's fur (dubbed full)
• Hackle Black cock hackle, palmered (1)

How to tie it

1. Tie in the silver wire and a black cock hackle by its tip at the bend.
2. Dub a full black body forward to just behind the eye.
3. Palmer the black hackle forward in 5-6 open turns.
4. Counter-wrap the silver wire through the hackle for durability and tie off.
5. Whip finish a small black head.
