Wrap flat silver tinsel body forward in smooth, flat turns to the 75% mark.
Spiral oval silver tinsel rib forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns over the flat tinsel.
Now the three-layer wing. This is the pattern's essence. First: tie in a sparse layer of white bucktail underneath as the belly. Second: tie in a narrow layer of black bucktail in the middle as the lateral line. Third: tie in a sparse layer of brown bucktail on top as the back.
Each layer should be sparse. You should see through each one. The three layers together create the natural minnow's countershading.
Build a neat, lacquered head. Whip finish, apply 2-3 coats of head cement.
