- Hook 4x-long streamer hook, 6-12
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Tail Red buzzer wrap (Short tuft of red wool/yarn)
- Body Silver metal tape (Flat silver tinsel)
- Rib Silver metal tape (Oval silver tinsel (optional))
- Wing (bottom) White uni stretch (White bucktail)
- Wing (middle) Black ostrich herl (Black bucktail or black bear hair)
- Wing (top) Brown permanent marker (Brown bucktail)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start thread, running it back to above the barb.
- Tie in a short red wool tail, no longer than the hook gap, and trim square.
- Bind in flat silver tinsel and wrap a smooth body forward and back to the 80% mark, then tie off.
- Stack a sparse bunch of white bucktail on the underside for the belly, tips reaching the tail.
- Add an equal bunch of black bucktail flat on top of the white as the lateral line.
- Cap it with a bunch of brown bucktail over the black for the back, keeping all three layers thin.
- Build a smooth black head, whip finish, and cement.
