Materials

  • Tail Yellow mcflylon (Yellow hackle fibers or marabou tips)
  • Body Black ostrich herl (Black floss or black chenille)
  • Rib Silver metal tape (Flat silver tinsel)
  • Throat Yellow mcflylon (Yellow hackle fibers)
  • Wing White uni stretch (White marabou plume)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start black thread, running it back to above the barb.
  2. Tie in a short yellow tail, one shank length long, and bind flat silver tinsel at the same point.
  3. Wrap a smooth, slim black body forward to the 85% mark.
  4. Spiral the silver rib forward in 5-6 even turns and tie off.
  5. Sweep a small bunch of yellow fibers under the shank as a throat, reaching to the hook point.
  6. Tie in a white marabou wing on top, tips extending just past the tail, and taper the butts.
  7. Build a neat black head, whip finish, and cement.
