Materials
- Bead Black bead (Black tungsten bead (optional))
- Body Black ostrich herl (Black Antron/hare's-ear blend dubbing)
- Rib Gold middle (Fine gold wire)
- Thorax Dark brown fur (Dark brown dubbing, buggy)
- Legs Brown silly legs nymph size (Brown partridge fibers)
How to tie it
- Slide on the black bead, mount the hook, and start thread behind the bead.
- Catch in fine gold wire and run the thread back around the bend.
- Dub a slim black body forward around the curve to the 65% mark.
- Rib the body with 5 open turns of gold wire and tie off.
- Dub a fuller, buggier dark-brown thorax right behind the bead.
- Sweep a sparse collar of brown partridge fibers around the thorax to suggest legs and antennae.
- Whip finish behind the bead and add a touch of cement.
