How to tie it
Put the black bead on the hook (3761, size 14 or 16) and start the thread right behind the bead.
Tie in a tail of dyed wood duck mallard flank, loosely wrapped to set the length, stacking the thread wraps side by side; keep the tail a little long.
Tie in small chartreuse wire on the side of the hook, then work the thread back down the shank.
Tie in olive midge flash with a wrap or two as a flash rib.
Twist caddis green Buggy Nymph dubbing tight on the thread and dub a tapered body, a little fuller toward the front.
Wrap the midge flash forward and trim it, then wrap the wire forward spaced between the flash turns.
Tie in mallard flank on each side as wings/legs, with the tips about even with the back of the fly.
Lay a loose mat of the dubbing round the front like a soft hackle, take a couple of loose thread wraps and pull the fibres back, then pin them back with a collar of thread wraps and tie off.
