How to tie it
Dress a beaded Daiichi 1760 with black thread from end to end.
Tie marabou in along the full length of the shank rather than just at the rear. Binding it the whole way keeps the underbody even, which matters because the tinsel body that goes over it will show every lump.
Tie red holographic tinsel in at the back and smooth the body out with thread.
Wind the tinsel forward in touching turns to behind the bead and tie it off. The holo body under a black marabou tail is what gives the fly its inner glow. It looks like a leech lit from inside.
Clump-dub black and red Simi Seal behind the bead as a collar and tie it off, then whip finish.
Brush the collar out to style it and thin it down. A thinned collar breathes on the pause; a dense one just looks like a bead of dubbing.
