Wax the Black Nano Silk (it is slippery), start it on the shank with a jam knot and trim the tag.
Figure-8 the Small Black Round Foam Eyes in behind the eye with good wraps in front, behind, and a couple round the eyes themselves; a drop of Zap-A-Gap here is the tyer's usual habit. Run the thread down to the bend.
Take one long Brown Indian Hen Hackle, separate the tip from the longer barbs so no stem is in the tail, and tie it in as a short tail about a quarter of the shank.
If the eyes have loosened, add wraps to tighten them, then put in a half hitch or whip finish before starting the body.
Tie in the Caddis Brown Dry Fly Polyyarn at the tail base and wrap it forward, pulling tight, to where the thorax will start (short of the eyes), back almost to the tail and forward again with a slight taper; bind off behind the eyes.
Rib with the 12/0 Black Nano Silk: spiral it diagonally back to the tail, then diagonally forward so the turns cross in a crosshatch that locks the yarn down.
Strip the fluff from another Brown Indian Hen Hackle and tie a few barbs from each side of the stem in on each side of the thorax as legs, even in length.
Dub a very skinny noodle of Brown Ice Dubbing and fill in the thorax around the eyes with a couple of wraps; scruffy is fine. Snip any errant fibers.
Advance the thread and whip finish twice (Nano Silk), no head cement.
