Materials

How to tie it
- Rig a trailing octopus stinger hook on a braid loop and lash it to the shank so it rides point-up a short reach behind.
- Start thread at the rear of the shank and tie in a marabou tail with a few strands of bucktail and flash for a loud, wiggly base.
- Tie in a marabou or schlappen feather and palmer it forward to form a mobile body, adding flash along the way.
- Tent two matching hen saddle feathers over the back, curving down like a shrimp shell.
- Wrap a soft guinea or schlappen collar to frame the head and sweep it back.
- Add bead-chain or dumbbell eyes at the front if you want more dive, then build the head.
- Whip finish and coat the head.
