Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Scud (Togens), 8
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Tungsten bead Silver bead (1/8 in)
  • Polar Flash Pink pearl flash (small clump (tail))
  • Jelly Fritz Atomic yellow (rear half of body)
  • Jelly Fritz Biscuit (front half of body)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the 1/8-inch silver tungsten bead onto the hook, small hole toward the eye, and start the black thread behind it.
  2. Tie in a small clump of pink pearl Polar Flash just behind the bead and bind it along the shank back to the hook bend, building a slight underbody as you go.
  3. Trim the flash tail short, about half a hook gap; just a small butt.
  4. Tie in the atomic yellow Jelly Fritz and wrap the rear half of the body, from the bend up to mid-shank; tie off.
  5. Tie in the biscuit Jelly Fritz just behind the bead, wrap it back to meet the yellow at the middle, bring the thread back to the bead, then wrap the fritz forward to form the front half.
  6. Whip finish the black thread behind the bead and trim.
