Classic Recipe
- Hook Standard dry / curved emerger hook, 18-22
- Thread Black (or olive) 8/0
Materials
- Shuck/abdomen Black thread or fine dubbing (-)
- Rib Fine silver wire or thread (1 length)
- Post White poly or Antron (1)
- Hackle Grizzly dry-fly hackle (1 feather)
- Thorax Black fine dubbing (pinch)
How to tie it
- Build a slim black thread abdomen over the rear two-thirds of the hook, optionally counter-ribbed with fine silver wire in 4-5 turns for segmentation.
- Tie in an upright white poly post at the front third as a visibility wing.
- Wind a grizzly hackle parachute-style horizontally around the base of the post, 3-4 turns.
- Dub a small black thorax around the post base.
- Whip finish around the post base and trim the post to a visible tuft.
