Start the Olive Veevus 10/0 at the two-thirds point of the shank.
Stack a small clump of Natural Comparadun Hair, pull out any short butt ends, measure it about a shank length and tie it in tips forward: two loose wraps to capture it, then wrap backward tightening while keeping hold of the butts. Trim the butts carefully while still pinching them.
Wrap through the trimmed butt ends a couple of times so the wing cannot spin or rotate on the shank.
Draw the hair up and back, throw a little thread in front of it to pinch it together, then push it forward and jump the thread to the rear.
Tie in a clump of Olive Z-Lon or Sparkle Yarn at the base of the wing, wrap back to the bend and trim the excess.
Dub Olive Brown Hareline Dubbing with just enough to coat the thread, and wrap from the bend forward up the ramp of the wing butts with the hair pulled forward out of the way.
Push the hair back and keep dubbing in front of it to form the head.
With another sliver of dubbing, take a few moderately tight wraps right against the front of the wing, a few behind it, then in front again to wedge the wing upright; whip finish at the eye.
Fluff the wing out to each side into a half-moon and trim strays; trim the tail to half a shank and rough it up so it reads as a shuck.
