Reference Recipe

  • Hook Standard dry/nymph hook, 18-24
  • Thread Black 8/0 (70 denier)

Materials

  • Body Black, olive, or red material (1 small goose biot)
  • Thorax Peacock or dark dubbing (tiny pinch)
  • Wing/Post White uni stretch (small poly tuft (dry version, optional))

How to tie it

  1. Mount the small hook and lay a fine thread base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a single small biot by the tip at the bend.
  3. Wrap the biot forward in touching turns to the 75% mark to form a sharply segmented slim body.
  4. Bind off the biot and dub a tiny thorax of peacock or dark dubbing.
  5. For the dry version, tie in a short white poly tuft as a visible wing before the thorax.
  6. Whip finish a small clean head and add a touch of cement.
