How to tie it
Start the fluorescent shell pink thread and wind it back to the bend.
Tie in about half a rope of golden-brown Antron as the tail.
Snip the top half-inch off a rusty spinner turkey biot (that part is brittle) and tie it in.
Bring the thread forward, then wrap the biot up the body to give a segmented look; tie it off and snip the tag.
Tie in a piece of small pearl tinsel.
Tie in about 6 to 8 fibers of wood duck or mallard, taking care not to cut the eye.
Make a thin, short dubbing rope of chocolate brown SLF Prism and dub a small thorax, keeping bulk down.
Split the duck fibers and bring half down each side as legs / emerging wings; take the pearl tinsel straight over the top down the middle to look like a wing case, tie it in and snip it.
Whip finish, building up a small head, and put a drop of head cement on the thread wraps.
Trim the legs to about the body length, and trim the tail to about half the length of the body.
