Start the Tan Monocord behind the eye and lay a thread base back to the bend.
Catch in two strands of Orange Krystal Flash by their middle at the bend, fold the front half back and bind over it, centred on top; trim to about three-quarters of a hook gap.
Cut a long angle on the Tan 3/16" Foam Cylinder toward its butt end, measure it a full shank length or a bit more, and tie it in at the bend: one turn round it, tighten, another over. To stop the foam rolling, take a couple of turns round the foam, then one round the bare shank to move the tension off the foam, then back over.
Pull the cylinder forward and bind a narrow band of thread ahead of the first waist with the same move, leaving a gap between the two; watch the hook point.
Cut a strip of Brown 2mm Foam as wide as the hook gap and a little longer than the cylinder, lay it squared on top and bind it down, continuing the same thread band one turn behind the other. Smooth it off.
Catch a sparse bunch of White Macrame Yarn at the front edge of the band with a couple of turns, square it up, then fold it back and bind the edge so it leans back.
Tie one Golden Yellow Medium Sexi Floss leg on the near side and one on the far side, tucked under the brown foam and squared up; leave the front ends long for now.
Lift the foam and legs, advance the thread to the eye and back a quarter of a shank. Lay the cylinder down, come straight up and over with a couple of turns, anchor round the shank and build a fairly wide thread band.
Fold the Brown 2mm Foam forward, pinching it down and round so it does not fold up on the near side, and pull straight down; a couple of turns, then bump forward to the base of the cylinder, catch it again and wrap back to make this section a smooth thread base.
Cut the rear yarn even with the brown foam and use the remainder as the front wing at the front of the band, folded back and caught the same way; cut both wings to the same length.
Move the thread to the back edge of the band, fold the cylinder back and set it with a loose turn, folding the front corner down and tightening toward you to make the head. Tie the Dark Ginger Flex Floss front legs into this notch, near side then far side, squared up. Jump to the eye and build a small thread head to prop the foam up off the eye, sweep everything back, whip finish and trim.
Trim the brown foam to a short stub (it sweeps the wing back), cut the front of the cylinder at an angle to about a quarter of a shank, leave the back legs long, trim the front legs shorter and even, then put a little ZapAGap on the thread wraps underneath.
