Materials
Underbody/tag Danville flat tinsel, size 12 (medium), silver on one side and gold on the other; whole shank wrapped, silver flat tinsel tag
Tail Golden pheasant tippets, dyed purple
Butt Fluorescent hot pink floss
Rib Wire
Body UV purple Ice Dub (spoken as 'Caroline steel hide icedub'), spun in a dubbing loop
Hackle Fluorescent pink feather (spoken as 'shotgun'), folded and swept back
Wing Purple bucktail, sparse
Head UV Solarez head cement
How to tie it
Start the thread where the wire of the hook return ends, wrap back to the hook point area, then forward again.
Tie in flat silver tinsel at the front and wrap it back over the whole shank with barely touching turns to add body.
At the rear take three more touching turns for the tag, come forward and cut away the excess; the tag sits between the barb and the point.
Bring the thread back to the hook point and tie in the purple-dyed golden pheasant tippets on the near side, rolling them on top of the shank.
Tie in hot pink floss with an extra-long tag end left at the back, wrap touching turns back to the tail tie-in and forward again for the butt, and re-tie it to secure.
Pull the long floss end straight over the top, tie it down and cut away the excess.
Tie in the wire rib on the underside, wrap the thread forward and trim.
Make a dubbing loop, wax the thread, load the loop with UV purple Ice Dub, spin it and wind it forward from the butt in touching turns to where the hook return ends; tie off.
Wind the wire rib forward over the body and tie it off.
Tie in the fluorescent pink hackle feather with the concave side facing you, fold the fibres back with wet fingers and take three wraps for a swept-back collar.
Tie in a sparse purple bucktail wing, stacked, reaching just short of the end of the tail.
Whip finish, tidy stray hairs, then apply UV head cement and cure it with a light.
