Start the Fire Orange UTC Ultra Thread about one hook-eye length behind the eye. Seat the Painted Lead Eyes-Medium with about 15 figure-8 wraps, straighten them, then 15 more; finish with figure-8s over the shank and under the eyes pulled tight to cinch them. Wrap back to a consistent stopping point on the shank.
Measure the Barred Rabbit Strips by the hide, not the hair, so the tail is just longer than the shank. Take the hook out of the vise, push the hook point through the hide from the skin side, slide the strip down onto the shank and remount - the fly rides hook point up.
Bind the strip down where the hide meets the hair and pull the bobbin tight so the wraps cinch into it.
Wrap the tag end of the rabbit strip forward two turns as a collar. This builds a taper top, bottom and side to side and the fur breathes in the water.
Take two Hareline Sili Legs, find their midpoint and tie them in on the near side right behind the eyes. Pull the front strand back and wrap over it so the legs are secured on both sides without being cut in half; trim them to about tail length.
Straighten the fibers of a pinch of white Senyo's Laser Dub, fold it in half into a V, set the fold against the shank behind the eyes and take two loose wraps to spread it all the way round. Stroke the front fibers back and take half a dozen wraps.
Add tan Senyo's Laser Dub on top (the hook underside, since the fly rides inverted) with a couple of wraps, and white below.
Set a tiny tuft of gill-coloured Senyo's Laser Dub on the side behind the eyes the same way as the legs: two wraps, move the front piece back, wrap over it.
Advance to the eye, tear the last pinch of Senyo's Laser Dub in half for bulk rather than length and tie it in, then stroke everything back, expose the eye with a thread dam and whip finish with the tool.
Leave the orange thread showing behind the eye as a hot spot.
