How to tie it
Slide the 3mm gold tungsten onto the curved hook and start Sumo 50 denier thread behind it.
Tie in a short orange Hot Spot Thread tail at the bend and trim it stubby, then tie in the gold tinsel.
Dub a body of natural Mad Rabbit forward to the 70% mark. This is the step the fly exists to teach. Take a small pinch, twist it onto the thread in one direction only, and build the body in a gentle taper rather than a lump.
Wrap the gold tinsel forward in five or six evenly spaced open turns and tie off. Even spacing is the second lesson here: the rib is what makes a plain dubbed body look like a segmented insect.
Dub a darker thorax of Mad Rabbit Plus in black pepper and black behind the bead, keeping it loose so the fibres stand out.
Pick the whole fly out with a needle and whip finish behind the bead. Fish it dead drift as a general searching nymph.
