Shellback / wing case Pheasant tail fibers treated with Soft Tex, about 3/16 to 1/4 inch wide
Gills Pheasant after-shaft plume, split and doubled
Abdomen and thorax dubbing Squirrel belly dubbing with an orange (sulfur) tinge, in a split-thread dubbing rope

How to tie it
Start the thread on a size 6 hook and take it back to just above the hook bar.
Tie in a clump of pheasant tail after-shaft plumes as the tail.
Tie in a piece of gold wire for the rib.
Tie in treated pheasant tail fibers on top of the hook, at the tail tie-in, for the shellback and wing case.
Split and double a pheasant after-shaft plume and tie it in for the gills.
Split the thread, drop in squirrel belly dubbing to make a dubbing rope, and dub the abdomen with touching wraps up to the bend of the shank, leaving it buggy.
Tie in both halves of the after-shaft plume just above the bend for gills.
Pull the pheasant tail over the top as the shellback and tie it down.
Rib the body with the wire in four or five turns, brush out trapped hairs, and tie the wire off.
Pull the wing case back, trim the excess plume, bring the thread to about an eye length behind the hook eye, and tie in small black bead chain eyes with cross wraps, then one wrap around.
Return the thread to the start of the thorax and tie in a pair of tan saddle feathers by their tips.
Palmer both feathers forward in touching turns, tie off and trim the stems.
Dub more squirrel belly with a split thread behind the eyes and crisscross through them.
Pull the pheasant tail wing case over the top and tie it off in front of the eyes, one wrap behind the eyes, and whip finish in front of the eyes.
Trim the excess material and colour the white thread of the head with an olive or dun marker.
