Start the thread near mid-shank and wrap back to the start of the bend.
Tie in a tuft of cinnamon bear fur at the bend for the tail; bind the butts up the shank with loose wraps to bulk the underbody, add a couple of tight wraps, and trim the excess.
Tie in one strand each of medium red and silver wire near the front and bind them back to the tail, keeping the two strands parallel for a smooth underbody.
Wrap both wires forward together as one two-tone body, keeping the color order consistent all the way up; a little black thread showing between turns is fine.
Secure the wires up front with tight wraps and helicopter the ends off; bury any sharp nubs with a few loose wraps.
Tie in a second tuft of bear fur as the wing, reaching back to the tip of the tail (pull out heavy underfur first); cord the thread clockwise for a tight first bite, then flatten and add wraps forward.
Trim the wing butts at an angle so the head tapers, then ramp thread over them to form a neat bullet head.
Whip finish and coat the head with cement or UV resin.
