Tyer Recipe

Materials

  • Weight Bead chain or dumbbells
  • Tail Hen hackles, 2-3 matched pairs
  • Belly & shoulders (Marabou)
  • Body Hen hackles
  • Weed guard (Hard mono or wire)

How to tie it

  1. Start the thread near the eye and lay a short base.
  2. Tie in a belly of white craft fur or Super Hair under the shank, extending one and a half to two shank-lengths behind the bend.
  3. Add a few strands of pearl flash along each side for the lateral line.
  4. Tie in the darker back material on top of the shank, slightly longer than the belly, to build a two-tone minnow profile.
  5. Build a neat tapered thread head, whip finish, and trim the fibers to a baitfish taper.
  6. Stick a 3D eye on each side of the head and coat the head and eyes with epoxy or UV resin.
