Materials

  • Trailing shuck Cream semperfli cashmere monkey (Antron or Z-Lon)
  • Shellback Black floss (Evazote foam strip)
  • Rib Opal material (tinsel)
  • Body Brown permanent marker (snowshoe rabbit-foot dubbing)
  • Wing Cream semperfli cashmere monkey (Antron or Z-Lon)
  • Collar Black ostrich herl (webby hackle)
  • Head Brown permanent marker (snowshoe rabbit-foot dubbing)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the dry hook and start tan thread, running it to the bend.
  2. Tie in a sparse cream Antron trailing shuck about half a shank length at the bend.
  3. Bind a strip of black Evazote foam and the opal tinsel rib at the bend, leaving both hanging back.
  4. Dub a brown snowshoe body forward to the 70% mark.
  5. Pull the foam shellback over the top and rib forward with 4-5 open turns of tinsel, then tie off.
  6. Tie a cream Antron wing flat over the back, reaching the bend, then wind a black webby hackle two turns and clip the top flat.
  7. Dub a small snowshoe head in front of the hackle and whip finish.
